Why a creepy character?
Say hi to Noodles! Here's another example of my bad humour. Isn't he hilarious? I'm rubbish at taxidermy, so this is a half done fox skin around a homemade wire and wooden armature. Creating a humorously haunting character is probably what led to Terri - also known as Terribly Dreadful.
Why humour?
The previous year's project had included dismembering small rodents and dressing them in earrings on a stick, or turning odd objects funny with passive aggressive text.
This became postcards and large scale sculptures of bedsheets and newspaper mush that all had passive aggressive text across it. Humour continued in this year's project.
How did this all start?
This project initially started as a humorous "what-if" idea that made us laugh. Then, over the summer of 2020, we painted a little statuette of a ram in a suit that reminded us of the graphic novel "Girl From the Other Side" by Nagabe. Such a funny looking statuette needed a following.

After a trauma in the summer, this funny sculpture became a catalyst for a fully fledged website with videos, paintings, sculptures and collaborations. The aim of this project is to explore my brand of humour in creating and "leading" this lo-fi cult with its bad jokes and spiralling atmosphere.

Leading a fictional cult has it's moments!
Like accidentally kicking an actual bible over the garden fence onto the neighbours shed roof where it still is to this day. A tragic accident.

A huge thank you to fellow student Valentina who is the official "Follower One!" and co-actor.
The two videos "Let's Play Video" and "Skin Care Video" are her collaborative performances that we have both worked on and edited together. Again, a fabulous person to work with and as such, you can enjoy her dramatic take on the great and powerful Terri!
